The Dominican Cigar and Tobacco Association (ADOCITAB) is a non-profit organization that brings together and strengthens micro, small, and medium-sized businesses in the Dominican tobacco industry. Its mission is to promote the development of the tobacco industry and ensure that the quality of Dominican cigars continues to conquer the world.
Tamboril:
The Cigar Capital of the World and Home of the Best Cigar Rollers
In 2022, the municipality of Tamboril in Santiago, Dominican Republic, was officially declared the Cigar Capital of the World. This recognition is due to the skill and dedication of local artisans, who from an early age learn the art of cigar rolling, a tradition passed down from generation to generation.
Tamboril is home to more than 300 cigar factories, many of them small and family-run, but all united by a common commitment: the quality of Dominican cigars. It is also the only place in the world with a Cigar Monument, honoring the cigar rollers, true artists of this tradition. In 2022, Law 341-22 of the Dominican Republic declared tobacco and cigars part of the nation's cultural heritage.

Dominican Cigar Fest 2022 and 2023
The event began as the Dominican Cigar Fest in 2022 and 2023, held in Tamboril with a festive focus and live entertainment. However, the growing tobacco industry demanded a larger, more specialized space, leading to the event's evolution into the Dominican Cigar Expo.
For this third edition, we present a completely renewed experience in the Central Park of Santiago, a prestigious venue that will allow us to offer an expanded exhibition area, greater networking opportunities and a business hub dedicated to strategic meetings. Attendees will also be able to enjoy an enriched cultural and culinary offering, exclusive product launches, interactive cigar-making sessions, and specialized lectures with industry experts.Â
